What’s blooming at Welland Community Orchard?

We’ve had quite a mild Winter on Southern Vancouver Island. We started seeing signs of Spring at Welland Community Orchard, starting back in mid-February. It’s now mid-March and more trees and plants are coming out of dormancy, to bud/bloom/blossom. It’s been delightful seeing more signs of Spring!

This self seeded field mustard plant decided to start growing beside the perennial pollinator garden beds.

A field mustard plant with vibrant yellow flowers, green leaves, and buds, captured in three separate crops showcasing the plant in its entirety, a cluster of yellow flowers in bloom, and a close-up of a leaf’s edge.
Close-up of blue-purple and white star hyacinth flowers in full bloom, with six pointed petals, yellow center, and varying green foliage and brown mulch in the background, surrounded by three smaller images of blooms at various stages of growth.
A low-angle shot showcases a field of bright yellow daffodils in bloom, interspersed with green grass and scattered fallen leaves. Bare, gnarled fruit tree branches arch overhead against a slightly overcast sky. In the background, a few picnic tables in the orchard.

There’s currently a beautiful daffodils blooming explosion at the community orchard park. Come by for a visit and stroll through the small but plentifully packed, community orchard. It is open 24/7 to the general public.
